Sree Sree Ma Radharani Devi 

In the  Bengali calendar year 1325 (1918), on the Shukla Ashtami in the month of Bhadra, also known as Radhashtami, a memorable event occurred which will forever be etched in the memories of the disciples and devotees of Sree Sree 108 Swami Birajananda Bharati. Because on that day, at the pre-dawn hour of sunrise, in the residence of  Monoranjan Shikdar, the steward of the Narail Estate in East Bengal, a divine incarnation took place in the form of a maiden. Since the auspicious day of Radhashtami marked her birth, so she was named Radharani. This divine maiden, later in life, became the revered spiritual mother, Shri Shri Ma (Shri Shri Radharani Devi).

In the year 1347, on the day of Punya Janmastami, she voluntarily renounced worldly affairs and came into the presence of Shri Shri Thakur ( Sree Sree 108 Swami Birajananda Bharati), thus beginning her life of spiritual practice. With utmost devotion and sincerity, she dedicated herself to the service of Shri Shri Thakur, simultaneously shouldering the responsibilities of managing the ashram. During the spiritual practices of Shri Shri Thakur, He often remained absorbed in divine contemplation, sometimes appearing eccentric, and frequently disregarding conventional attire. He wandered around wearing only a loincloth, engrossed in spiritual fervour. At that time, Shri Shri Ma would meticulously attend to Him, akin to the mother of child-God Krishna, nurturing Him at every step. Under Shri Shri Ma's guidance, everything about Shri Shri Thakur unfolded, controlled by her maternal love. 

Once, in a public gathering at Sonathli, when some ill-mannered villagers spoke disrespectfully to SreeMa in harsh language, she revealed Her divine form and proclaimed, "See, I am 'Ma'—the Mother of the Universe." The unruly crowd stood stunned. Until then, they had known Her only as the adorned youthful maiden in colourful attire and ornaments. Witnessing Her divine form filled them with awe and reverence and eventually, they bowed down, seeking forgiveness.

The sight of Shri Shri Ma's service to her Guru mesmerized everyone. During His spiritual practices, while Shri Shri Thakur remained absorbed in divine contemplation, She tirelessly engaged in selfless service, not only to Him but to all living beings. She taught us through Her example that serving the Guru with unwavering devotion is the essence of life. She proved that Shri Shri Ma was not just a mother of the ashram but a universal mother, the embodiment of maternal love for all.

Shri Shri Ma had chosen the path of service as an integral part of Her spiritual practice, not confined to serving the Guru alone but extending to serving all living beings. Amidst all Her duties, Her heart remained devoted to the lotus feet of Her Guru. Continuously engaged in devotion, Shri Shri Ma tirelessly served the destitute, the saints, and the sick. She tirelessly expended physical and mental effort to empty Her treasury of love for the welfare of all. Though Shri Shri Ma is no longer physically among us, She has left behind a legacy of virtuous deeds that will forever remain alive within us. 

In deep reverence to the Divine Mother, let us follow Her life philosophy of selfless service and devotion. If we can walk the path of selfless service and karma, guided by Her example, then the salvation of individual consciousness will manifest in the universal consciousness. The Mother, present in all beings, is the source of all joy and strength. Even beyond the boundaries of mortality, She transcends the limits of the world, existing beyond time and space. May we find salvation from ignorance and delusion through Her divine light and follow Her path of selfless service and unconditional surrender.
